Children’s Class: Make a Cultural Mask with Ms. Laura

In this fun and educational class, children will explore the many uses of masks in different cultures. Using various materials, they will create a mask that they imagine would be used socially, artistically or functionally in a culture. Ages 6 and up. All supplies are included.

This class meets on Saturday October 6, 10:30 am - 12 pm.

About the instructor: Laura Corebello, a professional artist for the past 40 years, specializes in oil and acrylic painting. She is a graduate of Wagner College in Staten Island, NY and studied oil painting at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Laura is a licensed art teacher in Virginia and has been teaching Art in the public schools in New Jersey and Virginia for the past 30 years. She has written curriculums for New Jersey and Virginia private and public schools.

Laura can recognize the unlimited potentials of creative expression through the eyes of children and nurtures this in all her students. Some of Laura’s students have been stimulated to follow careers in art, have earned awards, and have had art shows at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley.
