Introduction to Floral Painting with Hillary White

Learn to paint flowers in landscapes, vases, close up and loosely! 
Use your own acrylic paint, watercolor or colored pencils. You must have basic knowledge of your medium.

Materials are not included. 

Artist may bring acrylic, watercolor or colored pencils for artwork. Artist must have basic knowledge and skills of their chosen medium. Artist will bring desired supplies related to their chosen medium. Professional, high quality artist supplies are worth the investment. They are easier to work with, last longer, and perform better.

Suggested paint colors: (I prefer transparent colors, use what you like)

  • Lemon yellow or Hansa light yellow (cool yellow)
  • Quinacridone gold or Indian yellow (warm yellow)
  • Permanent rose or permanent magenta (cool red)
  • Napthol red light or scarlet lake (warm red)
  • Pthalo blue (green shade) or manganese blue hue (cool blue)
  • Ultramarine blue or Cobalt blue (warm blue)
  • Titanium white

Addition supplies:

  • Sketchbook 9x12 or larger, pencil, eraser
  • Art surfaces at least 9x12 canvas or artist paper
  • Reference pictures on cell phone or tablet
  • Graphite/transfer paper (optional)
  • Tracing paper pad same size as artwork paper/canvas (optional)

Wednesday afternoons, 2-4:30 pm April 17, 24 May 1, 15, 29. Class will be held in our upstairs studio at 205 E. Main St., Front Royal, Virginia.

Class policies: We understand that scheduling conflicts do happen. You may cancel your class for a full refund up to 48 hours before the first class, by phone or in person. No refunds will be issued after this time.
