Hello everyone! Much has changed in the world since I last posted on the blog in early March. The Covid-19 pandemic has reached us here in the United States. Michael and I have been working from home, and our two daughters are continuing their education from home as well, with the help of their amazing teachers. We would like to thank all of the amazing essential workers out there, including doctors and nurses, hospital staff, mail carriers, delivery and truck drivers, grocery store staff, and restaurants (delivery and takeout only these days). The list goes on and I'm sure I missed a lot of folks, thank you to everyone out there who is working to keep us safe.
We are staying at home, and working on sending out messages of inspiration and positivity over here at Art in the Valley. I've been posting art and inspirational quotes every day on our Instagram and Facebook. We have a couple of free downloads available, including a coloring sheet and a paper sculpture tutorial. Many of you have downloaded these, thank you so much and I hope you've enjoyed them!
I was recently featured on Ann Martin's All Things Paper blog. I spoke with Ann a little bit about my feature in Create! magazine, an upcoming exhibit in June (TBD depending on the coronavirus) and promoting yourself as a paper artist. You can read all about it here.
Michael just finished up a couple of landscape paintings this weekend in his studio. They are still drying, but we hope to have the original and prints available for sale soon. Here's a picture of one of the paintings, fresh off the easel.
I've also added a new collection to our website of three of Michael's colorful, expressive landscapes. These landscape paintings are available as art prints, mugs, and pillows. You can see the entire collection here.
Another new feature on our website is online reviews. If you've purchased something from us, whether it's an art print or one of our free downloads, we'd very much appreciate your review. You can leave a review by simply going to the item on our website and scrolling down to the customer reviews. Click on "write a review" to submit your feedback (see photo below). We appreciate your feedback and support, thank you!
We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy out there. Art can be a source of positivity in these trying times, so make sure to paint, sketch, doodle, and browse all the free museum websites out there. If you're making art you'd like to share, tag us on Instagram @art.in.the.valley, and we'll share your work in our stories.
Stay inspired!
